Close-up on plants whose leaves are covered with tiny white balls of frost.

Frosted plants, Chouzy-sur-Cisse, 2021

We arrived on the banks of the lake of Chouzy-sur-Cisse to make a stopover during the night. Excited by a promising weather forecast, I had good hope to take some pictures at sunrise in this totally unknown place. But the morning did not keep its promises: no interesting light, no fog on the water surface, no ice, no obvious composition... I was getting ready to go back to the warmth of the campervan when I came across this bed of plants still frosted from the night. I finally took out the tripod and took this shot, which is a focus-stacked composite of two exposures to achieve a satisfactory depth of field. In the end, I am very happy with the result and with my morning outing!
